Caye Caulker Kayak to Reef

How long did it take you to get out there? I want to do this next time I go there.

@shellius -- i can't remember exactly but i'm going to guess one hour? As i recall it, since it is a marine park (even out there directly across from the shore), they want you to go out there w/ a guide. However, we didn't use a guide when we kayaked out there. We just got the passes required and went by ourselves.

@teenabobeenaNY  thanks for the info., we would rather go without a guide next time. did you get the passes at one of the dive shops?

@shellius -- i think it was some sort of local "govermental" type place -- a small building or hut on the beach ... sort of half way (not near the split) -- just ask around, the locals will know or anyone who runs the tours -- again, they'll tell you you must have a guide but just ask where you can get a pass. Have fun!
