What happens now that tubers get paid?

A hastily created "response" to the new profit sharing program initiated by youtube.

I meant this to be more of a question posed to the community, but I made my point of view pretty clear too.

*I mean no ill-will to Renetto, lonelygirl, or any of the others whose videos I have enjoyed from time to time. Additional disclosure, Google is one of my favorite companies, I'm just not looking forward to the day they finally go "evil."*

what DOES the rest of the community think?

[And yes, I misspelled partnership.]

  • You've said it all... and I totally agree.

  • haha thanks, and I made it before they even implemented the program. . I called it!

  • By your point of view then, everyone who gets paid for doing what they love and wanting to showcase it (actors, directors, musicians... basically anyone in the entertainment industry) Isn't credible and isn't really in it for the love of it because they're getting paid for it? That doesn't make any sense.

  • I was saying that this would overall hurt the 'community' aspect of youtube, as people would begin to comment, rate, and favorite less. and I reckon this has proven true.

  • Im sorry, but this makes no sense, I mean, I understand it. But it's dumb. Sorry. x\

  • lamer!

  • Google has been evil lol

  • is this vid in 3D or something?

  • that's exactly why i want to be partnered!

  • The only thing thats getting blurred, is your crappy camera.

  • Fuck this...Everything in life needs money....And you needed money to buy a camera..

Not to mention tech reviewing is the most expensive subject on youtube...so we'd better have a good income from youtube

  • @dereknp81 I have like nothing against you, but if you yourself were a Partner with Youtube you'd love probably getting money from views and ads. And everyone has they're own opinion, but if you wuold be the most subscribed Partner and the famous one. You would maybe hate it if they would just take all your money and never give anything anymore to you. :)

  • It can be both,!have you ever thought that they love making videos but needed cash to keep making them?

  • you got you ask yourself "they must like this....and they are making money from it...how do i get in??"

of course they like it...ur prolly trying to get partner but you cant

  • love this! i am working on a speech about this topic and this is a great point of view.

  • If im perfectly honest...I dont care. I want to watch videos :)
