The song Shashkin was recorded by Omar Faruk Tekbilek however I believe it has its roots as a traditional bedouin song. It was popularized at one time by Samira Tawfik in the song Ya Ein Moulayetin. Like any old song, it's roots and ownership will be disputed.
The song is played on the bayati maqam (arabic scale). Since the electribe can't play this scale due to it being microtonal, I had to resort to monkey business to get it to sound (almost) correct. I didn't do much with the arrangement, FX or drums as I was focusing more on getting the microtones of the scale. I edited the video down to shorten it as it was originally 5 minutes.
Thanks, this is without question the most expressive music I've heard coming out of an EMX. I'm curious how you pulled if off to get the microtones programmed?

@slovplay Thanks. To get the microtones, I manually edited the automation for each of the notes that needed to be half-flat and lowered the pitch. It's the equivalent of applying a pitch bend to certain notes. The EMX allows you to record these with a pattern.
