Groovy car. If they put this exact model back in production (but add a few more modern features like airbags and a MP3 player dock...but keeping the styling the same) it'd sell like hotcakes. Or at the very least it'd sell like cookies.

The man who buys a statesman can afford helicopter rids and works for a oil companies.

Reminds me of a '72 Chevrolet Impala...

@Seattlecarnut I like the WB Statesman but yeh the HQ Holdens were popular cars back then.

I think the HQ Statesman is the best looking of all the Holden luxury cars.

My grandfather bought one brand new in the early 70's.
His son, my uncle, then had the car.
The car was sold a few years ago but recently I discovered it still exists and is still in good condition. The new owner is a motor mechanic by trade.
Great car, very comfortable.

Correct Statesman as the brand and Deville or Caprice as the model.
I have owned 3 (HQ Deville, WB Deville II and WB Caprice) Cant beat the old boats
I love them
Why is the car old and dated but the helicopter not?

Probably because the chopper (Bell JetRanger) is still in production to this day, so hasn't really dated at all (despite the civilian version first having flown in 1966!)...
