Such a beautiful story. If only more people in the world could think like the old man. =]

kill before you get killed.

Chapter 51, starting at verse 14, In: "The Gospel of the Buddha" by Paul Carus, covers this paradox of fight / pacifism methodically and comprehensively.
It can be found free online, just search Google.

THATS WRONG.
WE TALK AND TRY TO SHOW THE TRUTH,
IF THEY DONT WANT TO ACCEPT AND WANT TO DOMINATE OTHERS, THERE ARNT HARMONY WITH WORDS, ONLY SOME PUCHES, THATS A VERY GOOD MEDICINE.

where's that voice coming from?? nooooooooooo get awayyy from meeeee

Ignoring 'Ram Dass' anti uSa (dawn) programming during the story..,a very telling story.
The thing that the uSa once was...subverted by a fallen priesthood who birthed the very 'philosophy' Ram Dass diverts to.

I just woke up looking for some motivations in life and this brought me to tears....

I am not going to deny that this is a very beautiful story, But I llive in NYC and travel mass transit and if you think this method would work forget it. One would have to use the other method to protect others, NYC is a tuff city.. One evening on my block at 9:00pm and was mugged. The young adult dragged me through the street untill this rage came over me and I lifed my cane and said I am now going to kill you. The youngster ran away as fast as he could. IN THIS CAS I WAS THE HERO.

It truly is an art, to be able to resolve a conflict with words, wit and above all, warmness of heart.
