@stack1t Long story. But he is his dad and Kushina Uzumaki is his mom. Everyone always asks why he has his mom's last name instead of his dad's. People say it's because they weren't married, but they were married. He was supposed to have his dad's name, but after the fourth died, the 3rd hokage didn't want anyone outside the village to know who Naruto was because they would know that naruto has the Nine Tailed Fox and every village would be all over him once they knew and would try to take him.

@stack1t minato met kushina and they got maried or watever and kushina was the previouse one to have the ninetaild fox and once she gave birth to naruto the nine taild was trying to get out minato was focussed on trying to stop the nine taild thats when tobi took naruto and told them to let the nine taild released or naruto would die so...... minato had to seal the fox in naruto he did so cuz he thoguht naruto could use its power to be an amazing ninja thus makign him his father

@yuusuke1996 wow this is 9 months late but i just incase you dont know They 4th hokage is minato and he is called Yondaime Hokage Like Tsunade is called Gondaime Hokage (not sure if the third or 5th is called Gondaime)

@MugenHeadNinja well none the less, they were asking how naruto was the son of the 4th hokage. I haven't seen much of Naruto after the original one stopped airing, so I didn't know that Kushina actually had the Kyuubi inside of her. But I did know that Naruto got control of it eventually

@EternalMoonAngel55 its more complex kushina had the nine tail fox inside her and madara was waiting for a chance for her weakest moment which was birth and he released the fox when naruto was born because the kyuubi was taken out of her she died and minato desided to put the nine tails inside naruto is because he thought he could someday control it and he does
