What Idiots to turn that tour down.
The Spice Girls played to the biggest venues not only in the UK but the USA which could have broken them to a Huge global Market.
As for the Spice Girls being 'manufactured'. They were initially auditioned to form a Take-That type group but they turned it on it's head and left the management, went out on their own & within a year had major UK record lables begging to sign them. It's easy to sniff at them but If u know the story it's pretty impressive.

Alphabeat. You'll know 'em soon enough. They're the best scandinavian band since Abba, reviewers and critics say.
They declined the Spice tour, because they thought it would be "too weird" to play infront of that many thousands of people, who were unfamiliar with their music... a bit of an odd opinion, since I would assume the point of a support tour would be to promote your music to new audiences. Still, it's their headache.
Their product is good enough in and of itself.
