Various Coils (Pancake Coil Resonance) 002

Using my Pancake Coil at its Resonance Frequency I have found that you can transfer energy Efficiently to a device placed on top of it.

I would use a magnet in the device and one in the desk to lock the center of the coils together.

If I were to use a second LED in the opposite polarity we could gain almost 90% efficiency.

Or simply use a bridge rectifier...

Any thoughts welcome...

  • Excellent idea. Make a inductive charging stand... You could sell them on the airline magazines...

I've never seen a use for the Tesla pancake resonance coils. This is one great...

    Thank you for your knowledge.

  • Thanks, Yeah I think that would be easy and for laptops also..

You could make it into the tray that folds down...

    Paul..

  • awesome. this is wireless power. if only the oscilator circuit could be simple

  • It will be in the end and cheap! £2 per PIC.......

  • weve got a "wireless" electronic tooth brush that works exactly like that. a AC power supply driving a primary coil (on a core) where the hand held part of the tooth-brush is been put on. in the handheld part is the secondary coil, with a rectifier and condensator if generates the power to charge the battery. so its a simple 2-parts transformer/transformator.

  • Yeah, but it is not as simple as that they have to be in resonance, try to make one and you will see its not as simple as first thought...

    Thanks for watching...

  • you should get a old cell phone and make a coil for it so you can just replace it on there to recharge

  • im a electronic engineer of communications.. but as i never worked on my job the last 20years i almost forgot anything about electronics :-P like today im courious how a simple coil without any additional R or C can be "in resonance" :) - stupid me. shouldnt had worked in IT the last 20 years. IT made me stupid. ...

  • @superxxmega yeah me too. if your on the same continent as me i will eat my toolkit

  • I think power pads (like Duracell makes) that charge devices wirlessly uses this similare idea, I know that theres a pad and a dongle which clips onto cell phones.

  • FUCKING COMMERCAILS!!!! why the fuck did google have to take over youtube, fucking ass holes

  • @rroge5 you can use the 555 timer ic!

  • I recently made one of these charge an ipod touch, using a valve amplifier I amplified the input from the function generator and put a rectifier bridge and a 4700uf 10v capacitor after it worked well.. for about 20 minutes then the tubes burnt out bummer.. also you will find if you make a bigger coil with thicker windings & turns (you'll need em i used 30 gauge wire and it heated up and was destroyed in minutes) you can decrease the resonant frequency and use the 555 timer instead.

  • 5,001 view. First time that ever happened to me. Sorry.

  • if you put a full bridge rectifier on after the secondary coil you will get more range, more voltage and more amps

  • man, i hate where i live. no one does this kind of r&d around me...ugh nice work though

  • Is the led in the black box connected to anything else besides the wires?

    A rectifier or diodes maybe?
