I miss seeing the B-52's coming in at tree top level heading back to Loring as they flew NE over Smyrna Mills. Was up there last fall receiving our two Search and Rescue hummers from Maine Military Authority. Nice to see the old base still serving the people of Maine.

I wish I could have been born in the 60s or 70s and been in the AF during the good old days with SAC. I bet I'd like it a lot more.

Stationed there from 68-72, AMS AutoPilot Shop. Loved every minute. Made some great friends and had a lot of good times even though it was as cold as it could be. Will always remember Loring and the great area around the base.

What a great place to be stationed, was there from feb.78 to aug.81. Met some really good friends while there and still keep intouch with them today. Pulled alot of alert duty before they moved them out to the mole hole, christmas of 80 was 70 below windchill but i wouldn't tade it for anything else. Thanks for the video it has brought back alot of memories.

I was stationed there from late '86-early '88. Two winters, whew! I was a PMEL troop with the 42nd AMS. I remember we smoked a base-wide SAC inspection. The base commander sent some buffs up to buzz the base. Boy did they ever. That was a good day to be a member of the U.S. Air Force. Thanks for the videos.
