Going to Town is a 30 minute 1985 documentary by JEM Productions for B.C. Transit, capturing the genesis of the SkyTrain project and its construction. Featuring James "Quick" Parker of the B.C. Lions and a killer sax-filled soundtrack!

  • Wow... It's awesome when they let real writers and film makers do stuff like this. These days it's usually left to inept P.R. hacks trying to convey some lame "message". This is an entertaining, informative and absolutely capitvating snapshot of Vancouver's transit history. It's worth your time to Google the names of the people mentioned in the credits... Props to them!

  • The Vancouver SkyTrain is so awesome and really important for the city of Vancouver. I hope you Vancouverites can appreciate it! Building that Canada Line from the Airport to the Waterfront Station really brought Vancity to the 21th century and makes traveling for us tourists so much easier. :)

  • I fell in love with Vancouver in 1986 and returned regularly from 1998-2009. The nose the skytrain makes is still a welcoming sound to me for some reason.

  • They start the sea bus 1977,the sky train start (expo line) at 1985,Sky train mellemume line was 2002,West Coast Express was 1995,Canada line was 2009,

    Olympic line was 2010,ever green don"t know?.
