3rd Grader prints several repeating patterns. Adhesive backed foam is cut and adhered to the exterior of a cardboard tube. Imagery was added in a collaborative fashion. Each tube had a theme: earth (land or water) or sky. Students could select from the completed inventory of 8 tubes to print from. Four colors of ink were rolled our onto the plexiglass plates. A rolling pin is slipped into the interior cavity of the tube then rolled through the ink. Once the color of the foam is sufficiently covered the imagery is rolled onto a large paper. There is generally enough ink to roll 2-3 times. Some tubes are inked several times in different colors.
