The El Segundo, California based band, Battlecry, performing 'live' at the First Foursquare Church in Long Beach, CA during one of the TGIF Concert series hosted by Ross Sparks sometime in the early 1980's. This is likely to be the only footage of the band ever recorded on video. Battlecry released an LP record entitled RED WHITE and BLUE, engineered and co-produced by Randy Bluer of Songwriter's Dream Studios of Redondo Beach, in 1985.

Doug Morris left the band and David Chumchal became the band's frontman just as record was finished. The LP was subsequently released by GREENWORD RECORDS, with the addition of four 'live' songs with Dave Chumchal's lead vocal. The band has a tribute site on MYSPACE that you may want to visit.

Members: Doug Morris - Rhythym Guitar & Lead Vocal; Mariko Martinez - Keyboards & Vocals; Robert Givernik - Lead Guitar & Vocals; Ron Simmons - Bass & Vocals; Bret 'kik' Keys - Drums and Vocals; Dave Chumchal - lead vocals, harmonica & guitar.

  • I was friends with Bret Keys the Drummer, and I knew Randy Bluer..we had been a group of friends actually originating in Hawthorne California (yes, the home of the Beach Boys)..A great launching point for so many talented artists south of ahem Hollywood Blech.....he had personally sent me a copy of this Album..on Cassette..and I was hoping and >praying< it was on CD or MP3 Lord be with us this day to direct me to afore mentioned media..puhleeze

  • I didn't even know video footage existed from battlecry! But i have to say the 60's crowd was a little cheesy. Where did this video come from? Some misinformation in the description as well- we were based in San Pedro- that's where we spent 2-3 days a week rehearsing, and 1 day a week doing bible study together. :) Bob's last name has a typo- it's Giverink. This was really fun to watch. Brought back some great memories. Thx

  • Dude!!! Love this song!!! Brings back many memories!! Doug rocks! Still has that awesome voice too! Every now and then I go to his sons for family get togethers and we all jam and sing (well . . . THEY jam . . . I just plunk along on my guitar!) . . . By the way . . . the spliced in crowd footage from the Beatles concert . . . classic!!!!! Bob . . . you KNOW all those girls are screaming for you! Who put this together?!?!?! Love it! I'm gonna send it to Bob and Mariko . . .

  • Man !!! I never thought that I would attend a video of this
