Hmmm... this is the first time I'm hearing this. Surprised I haven't seen this.. weird. But.. all of the members of Blind Melon are touring and playing together still (including Shannon, through his music, spiritually) .. with the addition of Travis. Densmore said he didn't object to Manzarek and Krieger touring and singing The Doors' songs, long as they didn't call themselves The Doors, use the group's distinctive logo or any other Morrison-era imagery."You can't call yourselves The Doors because you can't have The Doors without Jim Morrison," Densmore's attorney Jerome Mandel said.Densmore and the parents sued Manzarek and Krieger in '03 after they began touring with Ian Astbury, and calling themselves The Doors of the 21st Century.

The end is near for a bitter legal dispute between the three surviving members of The Doors now that the California Supreme Court has refused to take up their case.
Keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger are on the hook for more than $5 million after they were found by lower courts to have improperly invoked The Doors' name and images during a 2003 concert tour
The case goes back to 2002, when Densmore declined an offer from the other two to go on a concert tour as The Doors.

..Thats what made Shannon such a mastermind, such a genius with his lyrics. Because everyone can relate to them in their own magical way. Everyone can make them their own... like as though the song was written for you. If that makes any sense. I give you props, Mr. Amsterdam, for you love and loyalty to Shannon Hoon. I feel the same when you say "no-one can replace Shannon" but thats not what BM is doing. And hopefully maybe you will realize it someday... Again much love to a fellow melonhead...

But thats just my interoperation of his lyrics. Everyone has their own play on em.

No you dumb fuck... there is no comparison to Shannon and there never will be. But if someone wants to sing his songs in remembrance of Shannon and his legacy then props to him. There is no problem with that. And i dont understand why anyone would have a problem with someone basically worshiping Shannon through music. And for the most part, your interpretation of his lyrics are somewhat correct.... but for example when Shannon sais...

Hey shittyroad, here's the interpretation you so badly crave: 1)rehab, pale 'cos of drugs; 2)Religion = drugs, attains God like point of view 'cos of said drugs. play on words: God-religion-drugs all intertwined; 3)Talkin to a priest or Jesus himself tellin them not to bother, he's gonna do whatever the fuck he wants to do with his life (as he always has).
