It's Going To Be Okay - Episode 27 Part 1

*The next morning, Joe wakes up and goes into the kitchen for breakfast. Once he got there he noticed Demi sitting at the table eating a bowl of cereal, with bloodshot eyes. With out saying anything, he grabs some eggs out of the fridge and starts to fry them*
Demi: Thanks for taking me to the guest room last night.
Joe: (Looking away) Mhm.
Demi: (Finishes her cereal, then takes her bowl to the sink. For a minute, she stood their, holding back her tears, wanting so much for Joe to forgive her and hold her. As soon as she clues into the fact that is wasnt going to happen, she turned around, about to leave the kitchen)
Joe: (Upon impulse, he grabs her arm, but doesnt say anything. For a moment, he just stares at her)
Demi: (Stares back, waiting for him to say something, but nothing. She slowly pulls her arm from his hold and walks into the living room)
Joe: (Upset, he throws the spatula onto the stove, causing the pan to backfire, burning his arm. He quickly runs the burn under a stream of cold water)

*In the living room, Demi was heading upstairs, avoiding Nick, who she thought was still sleeping on the couch. Before she reached the stairs, Nick woke up*
Nick: (Rubbing his eyes) Youre still here?
Demi: I fell asleep in the hall last night, so Joe put me in the guest room.
Nick: So you told him?
Demi: (Looks at him) Of course I did, thats why he broke up with me. And I presume you told Sel?
Nick: (Nods)
Demi: Yeah, well, I should get going.
Nick: Its Saturday, where have you got to go?
Demi: Anywhere but here (Turns around)
Nick: Demi, wait.
Demi: (Sighs and turns back around) What, Nick?
Nick: Im sorry.
Demi: (Nods) Me too (Goes upstairs)

*Once Demi got upstairs, she went into Joes room, getting the things she left there the night before. On her way back out, something with a sparkle caught her eye from the trash can next to Joes desk. She walked over to it and picked up a white gold promise ring with a threesome of diamonds on it. Engraved in it was Partners?. As soon as she saw it, she had a FLASHBACK:*
Joe: (Reaches their table) Hey Demi.
Demi: (Turns around, smiling) Hi..
Joe: (Scratches the back of his head) So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to be my partner for the English project?
Demi: (Her smile fades) Oh, I cant Im--
Selena: Shed love to.
Demi: (Looks at Selena) What?!
Selena: (Smiles at her) Youre welcome.
Joe: (Half smiles) Um, great. So if you want we can meet outside after school and head to my house to work on it.
Demi: (Nods her head a bit) Sure.
Joe: So Ill catch you later.
*END OF FLASHBACK: She closed her hand on the ring and started to cry*
Joe: (Standing in the doorway, watching her cry) I was going to give it to you, before
Demi: (Without turning around) Its beautiful.
Joe: (Sighs) Demi
Demi: (Nods, wiping her tears) I know. I just had to grab my things (Sets the ring on his desk and walks over to Joe, waiting for him to step aside for her to leave) Excuse me.
Joe: (Doesnt move)
Demi: (Avoiding eye contact) I cant very well leave if you dont move.
Joe: You hurt me, Dem.
Demi: (Starting to tear up again) I know, and Im sorry.
Joe: (Takes a step sideways) Goodbye.
Demi: (Looks into his eyes) I love you, Joe (walks out of the room and then leaves the house)
Kevin: (Watched as Demi ran out of Joes room and go downstairs. Then heard the front door open and close. He walked into Joes room) Joe?
Joe: (Wipes his tears, without turning around) Something I can do for you Kevin?
Nick: (After Demi left, he went upstairs to find Joe. He walked into Joes room, joining his brothers)
Joe: (Turns around to see Nick) Get the hell out of my room.
Kevin: Whoa, whats going on?
Nick: You need to forgive her.
Joe: You need to leave.
Nick: Look, Joe. You can hate me as much as you want to. I dont blame you for that. But what happened between me and Demi is my fault, not hers. She loves you. You cant do this to her.
Joe: But she can do what she did, to me?
Nick: (Shakes his head) It was a mistake. We all know it will never happen again. And you need to get that through your head.
Kevin: Okay, guys. An explanation would be great.
Joe: Nick kissed Demi.
Nick: Thats right. I kissed HER.
Joe: And then Demi kissed Nick, the day after.
