(WIDESCREEN VERSION)
To accommodate people with older computer monitors, I am placing Shattered in a Heartbeat on Youtube in both Full Screen and Widescreen formats. However, note that the Widescreen Version has an exclusive new intro that is not in the Standard version. But whatever your viewing preference, I hope you enjoy the film.

After shooting my fourth short film, the film you see here, I spent about two weeks cutting the film together while finishing up my senior year as a dramatic writer in college. It was a race to finish the cut before the semester finished. And while I am and shall always be proud of the original cut, there have always been things that I wished I had cut differently, thing that I didn't know how to achieve at the time I was making that cut. Over the summer, I was able to learn Adobe Premiere, allowing me the opportunity to finally recut the film in a way that is closer to what I was going for in the original cut. What is presented here is a recut of that film. About 40% of this cut is different from the original. I hope you enjoy, and don't hesitate to leave feedback.

  • Nice new music! I just noticed how everyone on the street is dressed warm, but not Gina's character. Brrrrr!

  • Yes, it was pretty cold that night. We cut the shoot short because it was cold and I was getting worried about her. We had two heated cars running at most times and blankets on location to try to keep her warm. If there had been any other time to shoot it, we would have picked a warmer night, but unfortunately all of our schedules were tight and this was the only night we all had free for several weeks.

  • I also want to point out that Amanda was a real trooper, too. Both girls were dedicated to the project and I am eternally grateful to the both of them. And to all my other actors and crew. Thankfully, it was warmer the night we shot the side alley scenes.
