Nat'l Child Care Provider Honoree - Lisa Weidknecht

Lisa Weidknecht, is a nationally accredited childcare professional with over 20 years experience and a M.A. in Early Childhood Education. Lisa is a familiar face in the community not only as a care provider but also as a master trainer for other child care providers. Lisa says she does not care for children but for families as a whole because raising children should not be done alone but as a team. Whether they are able to participate or not, Lisa doesn't let her parents miss a beat in their child's early years. She emails a daily photo of the children at play or having a special moment to parents, grandparents and family friends. Caring for children ages 18 months to five years old, Lisa boasts that she loves to work with a mixed age group because they learn so much from one another. She creates a language-rich environment for children and gives them opportunities to select their own activities.
