@Zotov13 The symbol at the beginning is the official symbol of the Jain faith. The swastika is actually an ancient symbol used by Indian religions for centuries to represent the invoking shakti, or the sacred symbol of auspiciousness. Before it was used by the Nazi party, it has been a symbol of success and favorable qualities in many cultures. In other cultures, the swastika was also an ancient representation of a sun wheel. :)

If the world truly adhered to such a beautifully benign way of life; we would still have all of the lost species and the earth would be mostly covered in lush rain forest.

@MarinusCopy i hope the carrot is in a better place

Not starting a flame-war here, but isn't the symbol in the beginning of the video should include swastika?

human beings are inherently violent ..people have deviced ways and means to satisfy their viloent urge....and jains who claim to be non-violent are no execption to that...albeit their violence is of a different kind.....through their aggressive business practices and their sick and masochist religious practices which inflict pain and suffering on their own bodies

i was born in a jain household unfortunately.....all this talk of non -violence is bullshit...and a sham....jainism owes its existence to violence ,if hindus had not resorted to violence to fight and protect their faith against islamic conqurerors of central asia, jainism would also have been perished or jains would have to leave india and take shelter somewhere else just like the zoroastrians..it is only because hindus took arms and killed and fought that their identity has been maintained

@Mikeybetts Haha, I do the same with some Jain teachers at our school. That's my exact explanation!

as an atheist i 100% agree :)
on of my best friends is a Jain and sometimes we meditate together.
he does it for spiritual reasons
i do it for mental health reasons :)

jai jinendra
This is a religion that even non-Jains, and indeed non-religious people, can respect and appreciate.

@Zurkhardo7 Because their core and principal doctrine is peace, unlike the dominant ones of today.
