A video to show you how to hide the icon for the recycle bin from your desktop.
The code to put in notepad is:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\RecycleBinOnDesktop]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\HideDesktopIcons\\NewStartPanel"
"Text"="Show Recycle Bin icon on the desktop"
"Type"="checkbox"
"ValueName"="{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000000
"UncheckedValue"=dword:00000001
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000000
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this doesn't work on my laptop, when i click 'Recycle' (it is all copy, pasted.) i click yes to the first one, then the second one comes up with an error saying it cannot import it because 'The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.' What does this mean? I am running Windows XP 64Bit Service Pack 3. Please PM me if you know why this is. Yes, i know this is a three year old video and yes i know there is better OS'S now.
