This Sky Lantern festival occurred on November 20th, 2010 just north of Chiang Mai, Thailand at Mae Jo University. Flying lanterns sure are beautiful and amazing!

My cousin had loads of these at his wedding. The next day the newspaper had an article about strange lights appearing and aliens. It was funny.

Of course I'm almost entirely joking around, but you hear of the clearing and burning of the rain forests all the time, so I just threw that in for laughs.

There might be dry spells where a rain forest might burn while standing, but, who knows!

I did this at Krabi 4 weeks ago, it is so beautiful to watch them float away, most popular beaches in Thailand have them for sale on any night now.
