  • @myndy86 tldr. stop spamming the comments section. Try to summerize want you want to say in one message rather then flooding the comments. i`m well aware there are regular disease resistant crops.

You are missing the point. and the point is the red queen. and the fact of the matter is that it takes less time to produce a disease, or drought resistant product then to use hybridization or selective breeding. in anycase, i don`t rightly care about the arguement.

  • @AcanLord "Organic farming can yield up to three times as much food as conventional farming on the same amount of land.""In developing countries, food production could double or triple using organic methods" sciencedaily"dot"com/releases/2007/07/070711134523.htm

Impact of compost use on crop yields in Tigray, Ethiopia,"Fields treated with compost gave higher yields of both grain and straw than those treated with chemical fertilizer" ftp://ftp.fao.org/paia/organicag/ofs/02-Edwards.pdf

  • @AcanLord "Today's scientific evidence demonstrates that agroecological methods outperform the use of chemical fertilizers in boosting food production where the hungry live- especially in unfavorable environments.""To date agroecological projects have shown an average crop yield increase of 80% in 57 developing countries, with an average increase of 116% for all African projects." srfood.org/index.php/en/component/content/article/1174-report-agroecology-and-the-right-to-food

  • @AcanLord "Organic farming can lead to increased food production – in many cases a doubling of yields has been seen""the average crop yield increase was even higher for these projects: 116 per cent increase for all African projects and 128 per cent increase for the projects in East Africa""These findings are backed up by studies from Asia and Latin America that concluded that organic farming can reduce poverty in an environmentally friendly way." unctad.org/en/docs/ditcted200715_en.pdf

  • @AcanLord There are already numerous conventionally bred crops that are disease resistant(Wheat streak mosaic virus resistant wheat, Late blight resistant potato, Cassava Mosaic Disease resistant cassava, etc.) as well as numerous conventionally bred dought resistant crops(Nerica rice, Drought tolerant maize, Drought tolerant pigeon peas, etc.). Not only that, but most studies suggest organic farming has higher yields in drought prone parts of Africa as well.

  • @TheAntiV like i said to the other GMO backer, your opinion has little impact. ive read many an article/study from both sides of this argument. i could get drawn into a debate until the end of time but i see myndy86 has already taken you to the cleaners. look, its not a knee jerk reaction. but yes its a reaction to monsanto and the like. they are dangerous, careless companies and i dont want their dangerous food. thats all there is to it. GMOs wont get my vote. theres better safer solutions.

  • @AcanLord haha well this is the last message from me to you. GMOs wont get my vote and you cant change my mind no matter how petty you get. ive read so much info from 'peer reviewed journals and professionals' on both sides. I suppose its all propaganda. just pick your side and dig a deep hole buddy. hardly anyone has mentioned monsanto or the corporate vested interests and their shady lobbying and practices. i want nothing further to do with the monsantos, GMOs or your opinion.

  • @agedchoirboy Instead of watching propaganda films i`d perfer to obtain my infomation from Peer reviewed journals and professionals. Like i told you before. the importance of disease and drought resistant GMO strains cannot be over emphisized, particularly for use in sub saharan africa and other areas such as regions of the united states prone to desertification. i have no intrest in the hippies equivolent of ben steins Expelled- no inteligence allowed.

  • @TheAntiV I never copied anything from Anti-GMO websites! All of my comments are my own, except for quotes from peer reviewed studies and I use quotation marks and provide a link. All of my links exist, put the quote(without the quotation marks) in a search engine like Google. You just don't know how to use the internet. I never said "proof that GMO are extremely harmful", I said potential for adverse affects and the researcher you quoted even said there is at least some potential.
