  • I feel like I am back in yeshiva, and you are my chavrusa! A few points I would like to add in reference to death of the tzaddikim. The gemara (Bava Basra 17a) says that not only Jacob, but Abraham, Isaac, Miriam, and Moshe were all taken by the "neshika", the kiss of G-d, they are not taken by the angel of death. Secondly, the gemara states in (Yevamos 97a) that the sages lips move as the talmid speaks them in this world. Shkoyach on the clip. may we merit the geulah soon!!

  • By the way, in Sotah it states that there is an opinion that Moshe Rabanu didn't pass away. This is quoted far less than Ya'akov Avinu because it seems to contradict the Chumash, but it is a recorded opinion in gemmara.

That's so cool that you feel like you're back in yeshiva! That was kind of the point of these videos.

I never had a chance to go to yeshiva but think there is far too much nonsense on this site and not enough Torah.

I encourage you to make your own Torah videos!

  • I noticed the temple institute went over the same parsha. Are you both one the same timeline?

  • All Orthodox Jews read the Torah in its entirety every year (once a year). It wasn't always like this, but it has been this way for quite some time. So we are all on the same time line.

Once in a while it will happen that the reading in Israel is different (off by a week) than the reading outside of Israel because their holidays are one day while ours get stretched out to two days, but that is rare and this situation only lasts about a couple of weeks at most.

    Hope this helps....

  • Looks like Jake Gyllenhaal with a beard...

  • @cyph10898 yes, Aharon hakohen was also taken by hashem through the neshika.

  • @matisyahup613 wait, what about Aharon?

  • Words Dictated by HaRav HaGaon Shlomo le Reb Zecharya

  • only if it is the husband, due to the manner in which the souls are held in two when one is chai and one is "loy mes" or even "mes", because when the souls are split into two and rejoined under the chuppah the remain joined until they both ascend to heaven to be reborn.

  • This is a well known story. But once more illustrates your lack of deep consideration to the facts. In the Zohar the phases of death are discussed, and in regard to the righteous several things are understood to be different. However I can not go into detail on this because you are not ready to learn the Zohar. I will say that to be Yoytzei on dead persons kiddish is not possible. however if it is someone who "loy mes" one can be yoytzei.

  • Just one more point about this from the gemmara - after Rebbe's (Yehuda HaNasi) passing, it was reported that he would still come home every single Friday night and make kiddish for his wife (I have to get back to you with this makor).

Not only that, but the gemmara relates that his wife was yoitzei with this kiddish! And it's known a dead person can't be yoitzei a living person!

And all this after his death. We see again from this that death by the righeous isn't to be understood simply

  • Indeed thanks to your Rebbe, ZT"L the light of this world expels the darkness in increasing greatness, and so Mashiach will be from the living like Yehuda Hanasi, a man stepped in torah, the book of life, as ruled by the great Rabbis, ZY"A. May you gather strength to speak against the heretics and chos v'shalom the blasphemers, as to prepare the world for Mashiach Tzidenu and his appearance, and to even hasten his arrival.
