I just bought this car recently. It's a 1982 Ford Mustang LX w/ 5.0 HO and 4 spd trans. It had been sitting uncovered for 10 years which accounts for the bad paint. I paid $800 for it and immediately had to pull the motor and give it a new crank and bearings. Shortly after I blew the stock 7.5" rear end and swapped in a new 8.8" rear end from PSR in AZ with brand new 3.27 gears and traction-lok unit, built by Ford. The motor is stock except for an Edelbrock #1400 4bbl carb and aluminum street intake. Stock exhaust manifolds and single exhaust. This Mustang may in fact be very rare. It has all options and has a McLaren package which (as far as I know) included the wheels, hood and interior package. It has a heads up display, clock/timer, power door locks and windows, a/c, black leather interior, pouches in the door panels, trunk release in the glove box, center console with storage cabinet, factory sound system and much more. Very luxurious for 1982. This video is to show the power and performance of even a stock, single-exhaust 5.0L Mustang. Also pay attention to my driving and watch the proper way to launch and shift a car with a manual transmission.

  • my 89 mustang GT cobra has 4 speed automatic, are you sure they stopped making 4 speed after 84? and btw, my mustang is mainly stock, nothing perfomance added, with dry rotting tires,(its slow and has rpm issues in second gear) and it goes as fast or faster than the one in this video, thats all im saying... strange

  • @SargentandGreenLeaf This car had a 4 speed manual transmission, you have a 4 speed automatic. They did not make a Mustang "Cobra" in 1989, and they never made an automatic cobra. And hopefully it is as fast as the car in this video, this was when the car was stock with 157 hp. Before I sold it, it was going 12.90s @ 107 mph on 205/60R15 all-season tires.

  • @LiveToBike9 None taken. To each, his own. I have people come up to me often telling me to change the front end or offering the aeronose conversion cuz mine is ugly. But there is another group of people who really like this style. I like it for sure. Looks like a Chrysler K car or any other boxy 1980s economy car but it's got balls. Plus this is much rarer body style. Everyone has '87 - '93 foxes, it's nice to see something different ever now and then.

  • @LiveToBike9 i think the old 4 eyes look more like musle cars than the 87-93 foxes especially with bigger tires in the back
