@Mglosk usually the legal red tape is what makes killing they guy more expensive then keeping him alive for decades, most people fight with every legal resource to the death penalty and I can't blame them, I would probably do the same in that situation, t would be as bad if instead of locking people up we could rehabilitate them instead but that isn't what our system is focused on.

@Albukhshi Well one of the things you need to keep in mind is that keeping a criminal alive is a constant cost, while killing someone is a one time deal.

really? I keep getting conflicting reports about this matter; you and a couple of others say life in jail is more expensive, others say killing is more expensive.

@Albukhshi Giving the government the right to kill is what would be wrong.

Killing someone is financially cheap as sin. Hanging, gun to the head, or poison injection, or cutting someone's head off, is pretty cheap, even electrocution is relatively inexpensive. It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars for every prisoner every year. Monetarily keeping a killer alive is more expensive.

its called a fucked up justice system. IMO, you either sentence a killer like that to life w/o parole, or you execute. I prefer the former, since the compensation required for a murder requires a lifetime in jail. and killing is wasteful financially.

How does someone get convicted of a murder in which he diced up the body, all of which was predicated by an incestuous affair, and then 20 years later is somehow eligible for parole?
