  • This is great! Whose arrangement?

  • jltbone: it's Rob's arrangement.

  • Wonderful!! Thanks Trabanul for placing clips of Boss Brass on Youtube!! What special memories of attending their concerts. I first saw them at the Savarin on Bay Street in 1969. Thanks again!!

  • Markeygirl, thanks for your nice words. I wish there were more Boss Brass video clips. They are extremely rare.

  • just for the sake of history and context, as a fan i gotta add this - Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass tore,m up at the MJF 1981 - to borrow from the words of Diz. In this clip - Ian's solo at 2:31 -2:45 hits one of those rarest harmonic combos that make you realize that this is the best it'll ever get. fan TAStico. Played this one so many times I started to wonder if it is possible to wear a CD out like it happens when you play a vinly record too much... right on, all of'em, 2 kewl.

  • This has always been my favourite arrangement of Rob's. Absulutely brilliant! Terrific brass, solos, etc, and the numerous changes of keys - stunning!! Just how do these guys read those charts?? Every member a giant.

There will never be a big band to rival the Boss Brass - never.

    Miss you terribly Rob

  • para todos los que disfrutamos la extraordinaria mùsica de Rob siempre lo extrañaremos porque en la actualidad difìcilmente encontraremos alguna big band como la de Rob, gracias por las memorias.

  • This video is a great tribute to Rob McConnell ... R.I.P. :(

  • Gonna miss him, first time I met him in a restaurant just out of nowhere I just randomly mentioned Elwood Glover's Luncheon Date - like nobody knows or remembers that show - well turns out Rob was in the house band, he had great stories and a great spirit. Hope he's up there jammin' with Miles and Coltrane.

  • R.I. P Rob ... age 75. Toronto. So sad ...

  • RIP Rob.

  • I don't think it was 1981, are you sure. Seems to me Howard had Concerts around 1971

  • Rest in Peace Rob. d. May 1,2010.

  • I love these guys , always brilliant charts :-)
