Have malfunctioning Deville 410.. after turning it way up (to 8) the sound is quiet and a weird distorted tone even on clean channel. confirmed not power tubes (replaced with new) and not speakers as identical problem when connected exclusively to a seperate speaker cabinet. something like a capacitor maybe? but no visible signs on the components or their solder joints.
I know if I take it in theyll charge me $200 (the bastards) its barely worth $400 (10 yrs old) any suggestions welcome

This is not a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, it's a Fender Blues DeVille. And they didn't make either one of them in the 60's; manufacture began in 1996. Nice demo anyhow.....

sure its a hot rod DeVille?
because the hot rod DeVille isn't tweed, its black.
There's the "Blues DeVille" (not hot rod) which is only tweed and only 410... is based on the Bassman
i belive this is the Blues DeVille

it's an actuall old one bro from the 60's... They made em in tweed back in the day. U are right bout the new ones though!!!
