Your mind worked blazingly fast that game, amazing to talk through all those variations and principles. fascinating!

Hello Kingscrusher, are you playing in the Gatwick Premier tournament? I am going. I am a big fan and subscriber. Keep up the good work!

dont worry about rating. if you are ~2300 in the auto pairing is because that is the level of your play.
-
of course, it's also often a reason you beat people of FIDE 2400~2500 in blitz (the constant zwischenzug searching and avoidance of "natural" continuations)

@mlkchalk Yeah, it's a nice refreshing change for awhile. I want to see a Kasparov/Tal/Fischer or MORO style from KC. I think making solid forcing and complicated moves(solid for you, but complicated for them) would be a good strategy for 5 minutes as you said. Great game and congrats on the 'IM Krushing'
After watching this game and talking about it, i think i'll go and try some of these new idea's. Thanks for everything and all the work you put into this KC. U make more than i can even watch!

good game. i don't know about the "docking computer" concept generally, but for you i think it's really good. you're very good at finding strong tactical shots, but you occasionally let "is there anything stronger?" mean "i'm not going to think the more straightforward, forcing move all the way through." indeed, the "too many zwischenzug -> winning position collapses" is a theme in your losses, IMO.
It's refreshing to see you play very forcefully like myself. I really think it's a great way to play in 5 minute or even bullet. People naturally like having choices and when you strip those choices away and force them to move pieces they don't want. It makes them more prone to blundering/mistakes.

@Drakenks But hold on.. the idea is not to play forcefully as such - just be aware of the guaranteed if-then sequences. Awareness is separate from a style of forcing. But I think Kasparov has described forcing moves as "hard pressing" which can be unpleasant for opponents. But often playing forcing moves can be damaging to one's position or not as positional as quieter moves. That is why I would be careful to recommend a style of forcing moves as opposed to an awareness of guaranteed if-thens.

Awesome KC!!
So is docking computer a term? When I first heard you say it I thought you were using a computer on the side.. or something. (Which I know you wouldn't, why would you?)
ddstar 4 months ago
@ddstar No I am not using a literal computer - just a concept. I am trying to consider the guaranteed if-then variations which I am calling a "docking computer" for nostalgic reasons from the game that used to be on the BBC Micro called Elite. Please see video link in description for the base video before these last blitz videos for more info.

Is this the only one for today??

@gentilguy It is - my connection became a bit less stable after this game, and then sunday dinner came up. I didn't yet lose a tonne in a row - but probably that is going to happen I think at this rating level. I will try and show those losses when they come up :)
