pipelines run all around us you can't stop them believe it or not it is the safest mode to transport gas,diesel etc.Sad for those boys,they died due to ignorance by pipeline operators.i am one and i get nervous to this day running pipelines.this stuff runs through peoples back yards.

I was a Security Police Patrol Officer at NAS Whidbey Island during this time and that day our unit was actually on the Softball field playing one of the Air Squadrons in a game and everyone pointed toward the smoke and made phone calls because from where we were it looked like a volcano had erupted. It looked really bad and I feel sorry for those kids who lost their lives and feel for their families.

Maybe? I mean it was obviously tragic timing but contrary to popular opinion nowadays, he was actually a bully. And everyday made me feel like crap about myself for his amusement. Did he deserve to die? Absolutely not. But my one nasty comment towards him ever was well deserved.

oh man i remember the day this happened i was so sccared. i was like 4 years old and i thought the fire was going to come get me. at that age i didnt understand how horrible it must have been for the families of those boys. i wish the best for the families

I live about live out in the county north of belligham and there was another gas line explosion in the foot hills not long after this one. It sounded like a jet was hovering over the house and a we could see the fire raging from several miles away on a hill side. Lucky that it just happen to blow in a non populated area.

We watched an extensive video in our safety training when I was a control centre operator for a major crude oil pipeline in Edmonton Alberta, and it was a creek and not a river that the gasoline ran down. Good video though... still gave it a thumbs up!!
