Ah, Belarus~...
It's an APH character I really like. Not the stalker part, but the headcanon... Actually, Belarus is the last dictatorship in Europe. After the fall of USSR, in 1991, Belarus gained independence ; America and the whole Western Block helped them and all. But in 1994, Lukachenko seized power and since, he's the President in his now-not-so-democratic country. His politic is nostalgic for USSR. He kept the colors, the flag, the music of the anthem from the ex-Belorussian Soviet Republic. (And it's kinda rare to talk Belarusian in Belarus. People more often talk Russian. USSR heritage.)

So let's talk about this anthem. The music, written in 1955 by Nestar Sakalowski, is the one of the Byelorussian SSR. The new lyrics date from 1991 and were written by Klimovitch and Uladzimir Karyzny. They talk about a friendly Belarus, and her great military past.

BTW, BLR is the official 3-letter Olympic code for Belarus. That anthem is the stuff nightmares are made of for Russia.
