"Rotgut" - Hours before President Obama tried to salvage his incompetent handling of the Gulf oil spill with an Oval Office speech, the EPA issued a report on the global warming bill in the Senate.

The measure, sponsored by John Kerry (who served in Vietnam, by the way) and Joe Lieberman, would establish first-time-ever taxes for carbon emissions from coal-powered plants and other energy producers, and put caps in place.

Now, according to the EPA, the Kerry-Lieberman cap-and-tax bill would cost every American household between $79 and $146 a year; or 22 to 40 cents a day. That's affordable, says the regime: "less than the cost of a first-class postage stamp."

  • I thought money was evil, now its going to save the planet, lol. I wish we could colonize another planet and let the liberials have this one. But we know they will be over bothering for long, probably wanting money.

  • Hey Rush, I heard you were gay with Michael Moore?

  • John Kerry voted for the American people before he voted against them.

No society ever taxed itself into prosperity.

Here's an idea - how about rounding up the LIEberals and sending them to the socialist country of their choice, and let the remaining real Americans get on with the business of leading this nation back to the greatness it deserves and once flourished under...

  • You are wrong Rush. Our problem is socio-political confusion caused by people like you.

  • My god Rush, if you got any more fine, Id have to flip that tubby ass over on that desk and violate you with your microphone in ways that would make the devil blush.....Big'Ol fat lips flapping, giving me beachwood already.

  • I like how he says "oh we need to pass it now because the sky is falling" as though the "liberals" are making a bigger deal of it than it is, and then later says "United States will be an unimaginable nightmare if this rotten bill is ever passed" ; making a bigger deal of it than it is. It's all a bunch of polarizing rhetoric. Bills don't need to be passed, taxes don't need to be taken. What is bad for the long term survival of our ecosystem needs to get wiped out.

  • Taxing ourselves into . . . .

  • Create new jobs? Hell, yes - & for once the U.S. taxpayers won't be paying for it. The BP CEO's et al will be paying the massive amt. of money needed to TRY to reverse this disaster.

Of COURSE, I'd rather this catastrophe never occurred. But since it did, than every single dollar should be reimbursed by the incompetent & uncaring BP 'clowns'.

  • A pig's fart!
