This is a short film analysis produced for an Intro to Film class at Georgia Tech. This non-profit review is for educational purposes with all copyrights allocated to their respective owners.
The monolith plays a persistent role during its 3 interactions with humanity. Kubrick's use of the camera implies the intelligent role of the monolith and guides us, the viewer, from observing mankind's evolution to participating in our own.

  • At 4.07 you wrongly say that the alignement is the sun and the moon. You shoud have sais the sun and the Earth as the second monolith is found on the moon.

  • It's probably needles to point out, but I'll do it anyway. They didn't see the Moon in Moon's sky, but Earth. This slight blunder aside, that was pretty good analysis

  • nice alalysis
