Willy Berking (1910-79) was a highly popular band leader, composer and swing enthousiast... Defying rules and regulations he recorded many "hot" versions of popular songs (Schlager) and dance tunes. Alternatively he was also active in the propaganda big band "Charly and his orchestra" (he played the trombone and also made arrangements).... In 1946 he took over the orchestra of the Hessicher Rundfunk radio station. He would remain at its helm until 1972 when a heart attack forced him to retire...

This record was recorded with an Nagaoka MP10 cartridge with 3,5mm 78rpm stylus as well as 78rpm phono preamp. The restoration was done as truthfully as possible.
