I'm noticing with this "only thumb and one finger" thing a few of you are commenting on that he use the rest of his fingers to form a steady base on the pickguard. Perhaps this lends some speed and volume to what he's doing? All guitar players, including classical, have to remember that different techniques must be used for different types of music. You can't use classical technique to play country properly.

@kanshiketsu89 While it's not standard fingerpicking, you can hardly say it's terrible when the guy has an entire style of picking named after himself.
