Closeup of Fusor in operation. First Amateur-built Deuterium-based Fusion Reactor in Canada, with first fusion confirm on Sept. 25, 2006. Built by Mark Langdon, of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I replicated the Hirsch-Meeks-Farnsworth design. An active community of amateur fusion researchers have fabricated at least 18 devices worldwide. (See http://www.fusor.net for details)

  • Thanx for compliments. Neutrons per second has never exceeded 10*6, unfortunately. I used BubbleTech dosimeters (two on each side of reaction chamber) to confirm neutron production. The plasma containment sphere was made of stainless rod, built using a MIG welder (took some real practice). Vacuum sys and HV pwr supply and vac chamber sourced from eBay!

  • I think the way of the future is to create anti matter. Once we can produce a fusion reaction we have endless power to create abundant amount of anti-matter.
