Daisy, my 15 year old grey and white domestic shorthair, eats Blistex's "Lip Medex." Usually, I put some on my finger and she runs up to me and licks it off. I wrote to Blistex and they basically called me crazy and, for all intents and purposes, a liar! So here is the proof, right out of the tub.

  • Nope. She likes it fresh out of the package, which that one was! Don't ask me why. She just does!

  • To those of you who are ignorantly outraged by this;I've checked with my vet & he said that it wasn't harmful, especially considering how little she eats. This product is SAFE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. It contains petroleum, cocoa butter, menthol, lanolin, wax, camphor & oil of cloves.ALL SAFE.CATS ARE NOT DOGS. Cats don't eat things that could harm them, especially when they're well fed & finicky eaters.I didn't give this to her.She is the one who runs over & pulls my hand toward her to get some of it.

  • @pookerella

actually the petroleum jelly could help with hairballs if I remember right :)

  • @DarkElfMairead That's true! Probably one of the reason why she likes it. Hey I saw you took your kittens on a slide video and disallowed comments. Smart move. It was getting nuts. I delete most of the comments here, people calling me an abuser. Yeah, this cat lived 16 years and she looks so abused, doesn't she??? Did you see your kittens slide video was on Yahoo's! home page and the Purina All Stars?? Congrats! :)

Yes! of course! because we all know how cats overpower us humans! omg, i cant even eat my fried chicken in peace, my cat keeps picking me up and body slamming me. i am then left without my dinner :x lol!

  • @LanceDaPsycho Mine isn't quite that bad, but she did this all on her own. We never offered it to her to begin with. I'll never forget the time I took the turkey out of the oven and placed it on the table and there she was! Ready to eat! Much to the dismay of my guests!!! :) :)

  • All my cats have always been crazy over anything with a mint or menthol scent/flavor. CatNip if i'm not mistaken, is an herb related to the mint family. This behavior is not odd, in fact if your cat doesnt like minty things that is odd! lol

  • is it safe for the cat to eat? because there are medicinal ingredients in it

  • lol thats soo funny! does it contain coconut oil?? as i know cats love that. i got outta the shower once n had it on my legs n feet n my cat came n started tryin to lick it off!! & when i researched it its really good for skin conditions & for healthy fur in cats :) xx

  • Daisy is a beautiful kitty. I have 3 myself and one of them likes to lick minty medicated lotion after I put it on. He practically chewed my leg off once he got so carried away!

  • i like blistex too but i dont eat it i like the cooling effect on my lips =]

  • @pookerella
