they are native in Poland and most of Europe east to India, and I think they are indeed also found in Sri Lanka.

I bet they do and I would love to see one in nature. Where do they live naturally? I think I have seen a similar one in Sri Lanka. This one was so tame that it simply hopped onto my finger when I stretched it out and it stayed there quite some time (till I could not stand his wacking and picking of my hand anymore) and had to shake him off. Lovely!!!

Fortunately it is not in a cage, but in a huge aviarium. Surely not as good as in nature, but not too enclosed either. As you can see from another video, I also posted, it is even so tame to hop on visitors´fingers all by itself. Really cute.
