The "Muenchner Kindl" ("Munich Child") is a radio direction finder for the 80m band, good for fox hunting etc but also for normal CW and SSB receiving. The circuit uses 2 ICs, a TCA440 (RF section) and a CA3046 (AF section). The RX uses a ferrite antenna at the top and a small rod antenna with a adjustable preamp for side destination of the signal. The radio was developed for fox hunting by OM Guenter, DL9FX in 1976. I added the fine tuning and the audio gain pot. Originally the radio has adjustable RF gain only. Pse note: there is NO AGC! After a 5 min warming up the VFO (BB105B) is pretty stable. Nice receiving with a small ferrite antenna!
