"Engineering's "One Voice" wins at the Himig Tomasino"

It was a jubilant night for Engineering's chorale group, "One Voice" when it won 1st place at the Student Organization Coordinating Council's (SOCC)annual intercollegiate competition entitled "Elementals" last December 3 at the Medicine Auditorium. The Chorus of Arts and Letters and the College of Science Glee Club won second and third place respectively.

The participants were: College of Science Glee Club, Chorus of Arts and Letters, Faculty of Pharmacy Chorale, AMV College of Accountancy Chorale, Commerce Chorale, Archipella Mix Ensemble, Coro Rehabilitaciones, and One Voice. Each of the chorale group performed two chorale pieces, one was the contest piece; Chua-ay (Scenes from the North) and the other was of the group's own choice.

In showcasing the University's vocal prowess, the Conservatory of Music - UST Educ Ensemble performed two ethnical songs while Michelle Oblea exuded the grace of an Ideal Thomasian Personality and the grace of a ballerina. UST Singers Chorale topped it off as the Medicine Auditorium witnessed what chorale singing is truly about.

For the past two years, One Voice has always finished second best and finally, on their third year under Mr. Ronaldo Raz, a student of the Conservatory of Music, it has proven that, it deserves the championship trophy.
