Morrissey and Bowie = both legends.

This is great - I don't understand all this apples V oranges stuff though. People who are obsessed with who's version is best are trainspotters - and the personal stuff, as if their work was good or bad depending on whether they were nice or not nice people. Anyway love to see Morrissey doing Bowie - sorry that sounds rude!

I love how he replaces the lyrics for "when people stared at david's eyes..." wonderful cover

I've added this cover to my FB group dedicated to covers. It's called "the Guilty Pleasure of the Cover Version" Feel free to join in.

morrisey is a fuckin hipocrat, no matter how good he is, he'll always disgust me cuz of his comments on bowie, motherfuckin asshole

morrissey is too good to cover ANYONE. he outshines everybody. He is ALL. i would say he is god... but he is sooo much more than that. X

I am a Bowie fan of 30 year and this is one of the best songs ever.I am also a smiths/ morrissey fan of 20+ years but this cover does nothing for me. I want to shout " BUDDY " that word should be sang with passion not flat like moz sings it

@JasnoGT I totally agree with you...Outside and Reality are two of my favorite Bowie albums!

Nothing interesting since 74? Haha . I dont think so. Diamond Dogs-Lets Dance was a SICK ERA! Maybe even the MOST interesting...... Yea, he fell off for awhile but stuff from the late 90's, Heathen, and Reality arent bad at all either!

morrissey starts the song in earnest, then realises it,s not working, then throws the song away. maybe it,s his attempt at an apology to bowie, frankly I don,t think bowie gives morrissey a second thought. I find it unthinkable to compare them, artistically or otherwise.

At 2:38 in this song, doesn't he sing, "...You don't really like this song, do you? Do you?" I'm a Bowie devotee going back to the early 70's, and have loved Morrissey and The Smiths since the 80's. He sounded lackluster and bored. I think his effort fell short when considering how talented he is.

Lovely cover, in my opinion. Genuine affection for Bowie - and Mick Ronson. Ronson had terminal liver cancer when he produced "Your Arsenal" - the album that put Morrissey back on top!!! Morrissey completely broken up when he was told Mick died.
I am a Bowie fan-not a Morrissey fan but I think it's a good cover. Not better than Bowie but not bad and done with a nod and a wink. I just thought Morrissey showed truly bad form on the Outside Tour by bowing out and then bashing Bowie out in public. It was shameful and unbecoming. He threw insults saying Bowie hadn't done anything interesting since the '74-Then WHY in THE hell was he going on tour with him in the '90's?

From what I heard Moz was in a very bad way... I heard he was going through one of the worst depressive periods in his adult life... I think it was a Linder Sterling interview but I am not sure. Not trying to make excuses but it might help to know that.
