When people lose the love for personal responsibility, socialists agendas and governments are of course attractive and appealing. As I've said in an earlier reply, capitalism is not a social system, nor a political system, nor a philosophy, nor a religion; it is an economic structure. Every economic system requires capital, thus every nation in the world are, in a sense, "capitalists" countries.

Of course freedom is not a right; it is a priviledge. With freedom comes responsiblities!

The hard working students eventually will lose their motivation to study hard, since everyone will get the same score everytime there's a test. So you see, the result of such philosophy is a "stable" but dead economy, where your earnings are used to feed people who are lazy or are unable to work. The socialist government controls many aspects of your life, unlike what proper government should be doing- protecting you, not providing everything for you. (Cont.)

This is an example of the most fundamental "doctrine" held by socialists: There are students taking a math test, and only a few of the many students studied hard for the test. The teacher, after scoring the tests, decides to destribute the high scores of the hard working students to the students that didn't study or study a little, thus making everyone having the same score. People used to say about FDR that he was a socialist and would ruin America.

Adam Smith's ideas about markets in The Wealth Of Nations are a lot closer to what some would call socialist, and bear less resemblance to today's corporate super-predator capitalism, than many think.
