The death (or murder?) of queen Marie Leszczyńska.

Le Chevalier d'Éon is an anime based loosely on a few historical figures, most prominently the titular French secret agent, and in general the 18th century during the reign of Louis XV. It takes place in France, Russia and England (and for a single episode the Free Imperial City of Cologne). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Chevalier_D%27Eon

  • Louis tried to stop her from drinking the wine... but she still drank it... :(

Queen Marie was one of my favorite characters in Le Chevalier d'Eon...

  • This was probably my favorite scene in the whole show! It was just so... tragically beautiful!

  • Thanks for the spoilers in the fucking title you cunt

  • @AdaTwilightFairy because she read the royal psalms knowing the secret of Louis that he is not truly of royal blood, so he killed her, the same reason he killed Lia
