  • Hello,

I tired this move and I find that often he can grab my back. Is there some adjustment I can make to avoid this?

  • @fuze59 You need to make sure to break his posture and have him leaning forward when you go to turn...

    Thanks for watching!

  • impossible....

  • LOL- ok.... I'll stop training it.

(BTW- this throw is used a LOT in judo, jiu-jitsu, and even MMA competition. But thanks for posting...)

  • @fuze59

U need to pull his left hand, and get him out of balance-that is first

second-Throw is more effective and attractive if your legs are in between of his - like this / I I \ I I - yours / \ - his legs

third part is to lower in your knees and hips.

fourth.you pull his hand forward and extend knees and hips... he is dead-RIP

That throwing is called "ipon seoi nage" im training judo for 17 years

hope i help-i suck at english

your Uke need to learn how to fall properly hf

  • @Lichmidget i'd say position over submission.

  • @TechniquePrevails i find everytime i try this move on someone they reach their hand that isnt getting attacked under my thigh and that stops the throw is there any way i can prevent this

  • @TechniquePrevails and in sambo

  • people try this on me and several times I have tried it several times also. Its very easy to avoid because my left hand is free so i grab them around the waist. If they're lucky they lift me probably a foot, in which i am slung to their side, but i always land on my feet.

It usually ends up where Im doing a hip throw on them when they're facing the opposite dircetion.

  • @Lichmidget i wouldnt do it straight on id cover and breakem down with ground and pound

  • ur taking too many steps, the opponent will read what the move is and stop it. it has to be one motion

  • funny all you people trash this dude, becuase i used this and it always works...

    thanks, man

    great vid!

  • @Lichmidget -At Paradigm in Houston an instructor demonstrated this for an armbar setup. Keep wrist control with the left hand, push his head down with the right hand, right knee on stomach, and from there the armbar could happen.

  • @Lichmidget depends on the position that you have him in most likely yes but you need to have wrist control after finishing this

  • Just wondering in an MMA fight, how practical would it be to attempt an arm bar straight from this throw?
