Peters & Floriano at 2006 National Grand Prix Dressage Chmps

Steffen Peters and Floriano won the 2006 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Grand Prix Dressage Championship. They placed first in each of the three classes: Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Freestyle. The 16 year old Westfalen gelding Floriano is owned by Laurelyn Browning. They will compete on the U. S. Dressage team in the 2006 World Equestrian Games.

Wow, Floriano really has a HUGE trot! Beautiful to watch. I suppose this was the Grand Prix or Grand Prix Special? What was their score?

This was the Grand Prix test in the competition. They scored 74.458. You can compare this to Peters ride on Lombardi in the 2007 Nationals, also on my channel.

Steffen Peters and Floriano (owned by Laurelyn Browning), Courtney King and Idocus (owned by Christine McCarthy), Leslie Morse and Tip Top 962 (owned by Morse), and Catherine Haddad and Maximus JJS (owned by the Janet S. Schneider Trust) will be representing the United States at the 2007 World Cup in Las Vegas later this April.

A piaffe is a trot in place no forward movement at all, a passage is almost a passage but taking very small steps while going foward, smaller steps than a collection.

I love this rider, he makes it look so easy. Many years from now I hope to be at Grand prix level but not for a very, very long time! lol
