Sorry ya can't enjoy this one as we did thanks to the following message I received from Youtube: "Your video, Local Bros Air Guitar to Back on the Chain Gang, may have audio content from Back On The Chain Gang by Pretenders that is owned or licensed by WMG."
I was allowed the option to swap out the audio with a song from a list offered by youtube. That was nice of em' huh. LOL!!!!
It was 1983 & Patti was away on vacation in Japan when the Local Brothers just couldn't wait any longer to drag out their cardboard instruments & air-perform with some more of their favorite LP's.
Here we are again enjoying The Pretenders "Back on the Chain Gang" song from their LEARNING TO CRAWL album.
Shannon did a pretty good lip-sync on this one considering Doug was the one who pulled this new tune out from his extensive album collection for us to do right then on the spot.
Shannon Skinner - Cardboard Bass & Lip Sync
Doug Butler - Cardboard Guitar
Chuck Skinner - Cardboard drums
Shannon was into the Dolly Parton/Eddie Rabbit/ Abba/ & Donna Summer kinda stuff.
Doug could get into the old rock classics like Chuck but he was mostly into whatever was current at the time. He drove Chuck crazy as room mates with his wall-to-wall disco albums that he enjoyed doing a disco-fied West Coast Swing to. Doug was known as the West Coast Kid.
And I was mainly into the Rock when it came down to playing the real drums (secretly I was a drummer & few people knew that) or doing air guitar & I also enjoyed listening & dancing to the other types of music that my friends were into too.
I like the way the video reverses and keeps moving- it's a neat concept. Who thought of that? Great air show as well - very cool

Sorta stumbled on it playing around with different ideas using the movie maker program to try to make it more interesting to watch... When giving a speech, having movement can help keep an audience awake... In this case I thought a steady movement would hypnotize the listener into the sound more. Using the mirror effect helps create the illusion of seeing us from another angle which I use quite a bit for different reasons, but here it also helps with the steady motion too. Thanks jdiciacco!

OMFGosh!!This vid is so vintage looking. It reminds me of long hidden Pretenders footage recently uncovered. AWESOME. 5 stars. I found this vid while finishing my "overkill" lipsynch I made, and stumbled across your channel.

LOL Thanks for the comment Steveo!!! Don't get too excited... It's not some lost video footage of the Pretenders, only my recently uncovered 1983 Local Bros Video of us Pretending to play to the Prentenders! Mind bending huh. lol
BTW ~ I checked out your lipsync of "Overkill" & enjoyed it a lot!!! Glad you stumbled on my channel man!! Keep in touch & Take care!

Yes... It's one GREAT song! This home-video was done in the same year that the album LEARNING TO CRAWL by The Pretenders had first been released in 1983. Shannon & I had already been married 3 years by this time... Very interesting lean times we shared back then & for most the years to follow, but here we still are thanks to moments like this shared with good friends & our favorite artist's songs! Thanks & Take Care KingPun!
