@brookeb82 I had to fight to get this segment on YouTube under fair use, and I am fairly certain this is the only segment of the show that is on the internet. However, you can contact the production company and order a copy of the show.

ah although its good that they are trying to get rid of the stigma, they make it way worse by showing that photo! I caught a cold sore when i was a baby off a stranger, and i have NEVER seen a cold sore that bad. ever. why would they show such an awful picture, that will only make people cringe and grimace, esentially making the situation worse?

I did the best I could damage control wise when they showed that lesion, to emphasize that it was definitely not typical of a typical HSV1 lesion. I can't answer why...other than one of the producers did tell me they wanted to scare people into being more responsible.

HOWEVER! LIKE SHE SAID... it is WAAAAAYYY more common THAN ppl like to let themselves believe. Stop making jokes about it and go get yourself tested. And not everyone has nasty outbreaks... Get real and understand that Herpes is COMMON.

By no means is herpes funny. Herpes is not something to make fun of, because it can really mess up a person's life. Imagine being ridiculed every time you go on a date or when you want to be in a relationship because you have something you can't control. Imagine that.

This is a very informational video, and i'm glad i seen this. I hear people making jokes about it , and its not funny. I am afraid of std's and all that, so i made my boyfriend get checked, he's okay. but i  think everyone needs to get chekced

I think trying to get people educated about herpes and informed is very important. My last ex broke up with me because he said he couldn't handle the idea of me having herpes. I told him after 3months we had been dating and we still hadn't have sex. Then we were having safe sex wearing condoms all the time. and after 6 months of dating he told me he couldn't handle it. I tried to get him educated about herpes but he didn't want to know anything else about it.

@22ForeStreet Ive gotten cold sores since I was little as well but never as BAD as the picture shown. I believe the pic that was shown was Herpes 2 and not Herpes1.
