GOGO is the biggest musical secret of the world. Maybe having grown up in dc I'm biased but I have yet to see someone discover it and not like it. It's so great to see gogo put smiles on peoples faces- just wish it could happen to more people.

@MrEllenwork By the early 1970s, Chuck Brown, a veteran of the DC club scene, playing dozens of Top 40 covers a night to crowds that were slow to get on their feet. “They’d come in all dressed nice and sit down at their tables and then not get up till they were drunk,” he recalls. It didn’t help that the songs lasted only two or three minutes each; any dance floor momentum stopped dead while the band geared up for the next tune.” REST OF STORY @ WHATSGOGO(dot) com

The Roots is legendary and they respect music. They know where it originated from. They are a dying breed, A real band, playing real music, giving props to the Godfather of Go-Go!!!!!!! Run Joe, Run Joe!!!!
