Flash 3D winter flying.

FYI: I've switched to a Motrolfly 2215-1150 (subsonicplanes . com) motor and have been extremly impressed with the increase in power. I have another video with that motor posted.

  • Depending on the flying style you are planning on and the area you have available. It is foam plane so can handle many crashes, but doesnt handle much wind and is a little more meant for 3D/aerobatic flying. I would put it at an advanced beginner/intermediate level. If you're seriously interested, check out rcgroups. It's a great forum with a lot of help for the beginner flyer (including what planes are best to start with). Hope that helps,

  • Where did you end up setting your CG? How much throw on the controls on high rates? All up weight? Just finished mine a few minutes ago and its 14 oz ready to fly. Hacker A20 motor, 1320 3S Lipo...should be fun!

  • My CG is 3.5" behind the leading edge.

I increased the throws on the ailerons by using the HS-55 3D extended arms.

AUW is 16oz with a 3s1000. It's a great plane, and even at 16oz is extremly light and floaty.

  • Hows that UH close holding up still?

I have the hacker one.. but bought it used..

    jamie~

  • It's holding up great for me. I'm still impressed with the power and can't argue about the price at 1/3 of the brand-name version.

  • Flash was my first rc plane, but earlier i flew a lot on simulator Aerofly pro deluxe (about few months). In my first fly by flash i flew a few minutes and finally i landed safety in a high corn in front of me (about 10 meters in front of me). In my opinion its super model for first fly, but remember about good preparing on simulator and good CG. It was 1 year earlier. Now i do with flash what i want :) (sorry for my english)

  • is that a good plane for a starter??

  • How did you attach your battery? I've used velcro hot glued onto the fuse so I can move the battery around to change the CG. I couldn't find many people discussing this plane online or anyone posting their build tips/hints.
