On the first day of 2011, First Ascent Guides Ed Viesturs, Peter Whittaker, Seth Waterfall and Caroline George traveled to the continent of Antarctica to guide a group of clients up Vinson Massif, the highest peak in Antarctica. We caught up with Ed Viesturs, America's premier mountaineer, as he showed us how he uses the First Ascent layering system to keep himself warm.

  • PEAK XV DOWN PARKA!

I am an Industry Professional who evaluates Down Parkas. This week, I bought the First Ascent PEAK XV DOWN PARKA that Ed Viesters is wearing in this video!

It is a Great Down Parka. It has 13 ounces of 850 Fill Down, is well-made and I recommend it highly! I judge it to be the equal or even better than Mountain Hardwear Down Parkas, also top quality.

I intend to buy another PEAK XV Parka!

I am very impressed by its warmth!!!

  • all this stuff is soooo expensive! wish i could afford. Hey buddy, tell the First Ascent guys to make more programmes, i love 'em - bit expensive though haha
