The Government says it will not hand over suspects of the post election violence to the International Criminal Court. Speaking in parliament, Prime Minister Raila Odinga said that although the government would co-operate with the ICC, handing over the suspects would be tantamount to Kenya abdicating its responsibilities and ceding its sovereignty to a foreign authority. But as Olivia Okech reports, Raila made the statement as justice minister Mutula Kilonzo urged the ICC to begin investigations immediately, on grounds that some of the key witnesses were being threatened and could even be killed.
