  • also. even when the tuner on tv2 is turned off, a signal is still being sent to tv 2 so the dual mode light will always be on when activated. and as for the tv 2 led, it shouldnt turn on since you have it brodcasting on tv1 but it will record on tv 2s partition of your hard drive. hope this helps

  • @drdjr8 thanks

  • I think your a little confused on how that operates, the rcvr technically never powers off because than it wouldnt be able to record while you were home. Also you can put recordings on to an external hardrive than transfer them to a different rcvr because as you know with any external device you would need to re-format it.

  • @ArmyofOne1987 Correct, it does not power all the way off, but in the video, you will see the yellow LED still is on - that means that one of the tuners is on and the hard drive is recoding. And yes for the 50th time I know about the external hard drive game and as I said, I am not replacing the receiver over a burn out LED.

  • If its in warranty, or you have DHPP (now called Service Plan as of 2/1/10) just get a free replacement.

  • as mentioned before, I don't want to replace a DVR that everything else it working, and has all my shows. Yes I know I can transfer them to an EHD and then move them onto the new reviver, but that's a lot of work and time all just because a blue LED burnt out. Maybe when the 922 comes out i'll take action then.

  • your tv2 led power lights can be turned while the dual mode lights are on. why? your tuner2 never turns off it will be just placed on standby for purposes of updating and downloading info onto the tuners memory. to answer your question why the mode light stayed lit up even the tv1 & tv2 led's are off; it stays on because your dvr function stays on always as standby for timers that are programmed to record. if you have questions technically, call us at dishnetwork.

  • another thing id suggest is changing the addresses of the remote signals to avoid confusion against both remotes

  • Hello, Im commenting because i work for a company contracted through dish network and we work on these things, first off, the dual mode light is on simply because your VIP722k dvr is a Dual tuner, when the tv is set for tv 2 and tv1 then the light will be on, when PIP is in service, that will be on. 2nd of all, when you reboot the receiver, it wont always reset all of your settings. when you set the receiver out of dual mode you can control tv1 with the tv 2 remote. read next comment for more

  • @sdschramm

It took forever because Dish was too cheap to use ESATA and instead decided to use slow USB 2.0 for their archiving.

  • It is in FACT a LED issue. The rcvr is working properly. The issue about the message tv2 is currently in use even though tv2 is not is a constant message that just comes up just to make you aware that when you do in fact do that it will disrupt the programming...:) Your rcvr is perfectly fine though...
