On Jan. 14, 1986, Bush traveled to Guatemala. During a reception at the U.S. Embassy, DEA Agent Celerino Castillo identified himself to Vice President Bush as a DEA agent conducting international narcotics investigations, and told Bush that the CIA , Oliver North, Barry Seal, elements within the DEA, and the Contras were running drugs into the USA out of Ilopango Airforce base in El Salvador . Bush just shook his hand then smiled and just walked away.
Later that same day Castillo saw Bush with Oliver North and the Contra Cocaine smugglers.
It has been documented for decades that the CIA has been smuggling cocaine and heroin into the USA. For more detailed, well-documented proof, see "Cocaine Politics" by Peter Dale Scott and "The Politics of Heroin" by Alfred McCoy. There are many other books as well as eye-witness testimony from ex-DEA Agents who were told to look the other way.
